I made this piece for the 2010 Quilting Arts Calendar competition. The theme was “Fresh Picked.” Each slice was constructed separately before it was sewn to the background. Some of the lemon slices were drawn directly onto the white background, and then free-motion stitched.
It was chosen for the calendar’s cover! My other entry, “Autumn’s Bounty,” was chosen for the month of October.
